The second lecture dealt with the mechanisms by which viruses subvert the cellular cytoskeleton (actin and microtubules) and major cellular functions such as the life cycle and life-death balance. Although I'm relatively familiar with this field, I realized just how rapidly it has progressed in recent years, both in the case of viruses with large ADB genomes (Herpes, Pox) and RNA viruses.
