This year's lecture was devoted to studying the chain of mathematical models from " aller " Atomic and Molecular Physics to Nonlinear Elasticity and the (macroscopic) mechanical properties of solids.
This year, a first part of the chain has been covered, and the rest will be covered in next year's lecture. We'll be looking at some of the classical models of quantum chemistry, and in this context we'll be tackling the problem of optimal molecular geometry and the binding of neutral molecular systems. We will then consider the thermodynamic limit for determining electron densities in crystals.
