Abstract
The fifth lecture was mainly devoted to exclusion models. After showing how to obtain the phase diagram from solutions of the Burgers equation, and the link between one-dimensional exclusion models and quantum spin chains, several methods for exact solutions were explained: the matrix approach, which allows both the phase diagram to be found and the shape of the density profiles to be understood, and Bethe's ansatz, which is the origin of the Schütz formula presented in the second lecture.
