from to

Cycle Europe Angelika Nussberger

Angelika Nussberger has been invited by the assembly of the Collège de France, at the suggestion of Prs Samantha Besson, Edith Heard, Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge and Thomas Römer.

This series of four lectures is part of the Collège de France's 2021-2022 Europe cycle, devoted to the theme of "The two Europes " The two Europes ".

This series of lectures explores the question of the different legal heritages - notably constitutional - in Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe, and their potential obstacle to the unity of Europe, which would remain forever divided between East and West. This problematic will be discussed in the light of the reception of the Enlightenment (I), the ideas and hopes for the construction of a "common European home" (Mikhail Gorbachev) in the early 1990s (II), the contemporary phase of disillusionment (III), and, finally, the possibilities and opportunities that may exist in the near future (IV). Constitutional developments in France and Germany, on the one hand, and in Poland, Hungary and Russia, on the other, will serve as examples.
