Icelandic sagas : issues and perspectives
The aim of the lecture series is to present the rich literature of medieval Iceland, with particular emphasis on the sagas, which are pseudo-historical prose narratives recounting events from the Nordic countries' past, some of which are remarkable works of art. The main critical and historical issues concerning them will be discussed, along with perspectives opened up by recent research.
