Music has existed in every form of culture from prehistoric times to the present day. But why? Why are we a musical species? How does our brain manage this musical capacity, and what are its essential components? And how does this brain function interact with other human capacities, such as language? These are the questions I aim to answer, taking a neuropsychological (patient-centered) approach, using pathology combined with neuroimaging and genetics.
