The Musée d'Orsay is inaugurating a partnership with the Collège de France, offering teachers an unprecedented insight into its collections. For this conference, Pierre-Michel Menger, sociologist of creative work, and Jean-Rémi Touzet, curator of painting, will speak on Wednesday,November 27, 2024 at 12pm on the auditorium stage.

Drawing on their respective fields of study – history, literature, sociology and philosophy – the Collège de France professors offer an erudite, offbeat reading of their favorite works, and a fresh look at the 19th century.

This exchange will focus on Seurat'sÉtudepour un dimanche à la Grande Jatte (which will serve as a starting point), dating from 1884 and from the Musée d'Orsay collections.
