Language dynamics in the French-speaking world

Human history is marked by a succession of migrations, colonizations and language contacts, sometimes followed by the extinction of certain languages and the emergence of new ones. Creoles illustrate the latter phenomenon, and invite us to re-examine the traditional study of language speciation from a uniform perspective.
