Abstract

From time immemorial, humans have dreamed of expressing form and movement, and have done so through drawing, painting and sculpture, among other means. Could digital media eventually become a tool as easy to use as a pencil, but even more expressive, for creating and progressively refining static or animated 3D objects?

This international symposium presents the latest scientific advances in this direction: it covers new models, software tools and innovative multimodal interaction methods, which have been developed for the fluid creation of 3D digital forms and their animations, and presents new advances towards the digital prototyping of functional mechanical objects for manufacturing.

It concludes a series of eight lectures and seminars in the field of computer graphics, entitled: "Shaping the imaginary: from 3D digital creation to animated virtual worlds".
