Abstract

Genetic interbreeding is an essential process in the biological evolution of our species, strongly influenced by socio-cultural behaviours governing relations between " Nous " and " les Autres ". We will study how these processes have influenced genetic diversity and natural selection processes in hunter-gatherer and farming populations in Central Africa. We will also look at the influence of very recent genetic interbreeding on the genetic diversity of Cape Verdean populations in the context of the slave trade between the end of the 15th century and the end of the 19th century.
