Prof. Lluis Quintana-Murci's 2022-2023 lecture " Thehistory of mankind as seen through the lens of paleogenomics " aims to show how advances in paleogenomics - the study of DNA from fossils, are helping us to understand the migratory history of our species - from its emergence from Africa, through the diversification of human populations and their first expansions into Eurasia and America, to the effects of the expansion of the first farmers into Africa, Europe and Oceania. The study of ancient genomes from these regions, combined with genetic data from modern populations, will be the focus of this year's lectures.
