Abstract

Mr. Cates' seminar showed how colloidal particles can be considered as a programmable material. The idea is to start from a very general model of active colloidal particles and adjust their properties to obtain pre-programmed properties. In the example shown here, the desired property is to minimize the number of collisions between particles.
