Summary
In the space of just a few months, a great deal of information has been gathered on the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic responsible for Covid 19, a disease which to date has caused almost 30,000 deaths in France and 375,000 worldwide. However, many questions remain unanswered. At this conference, Prof. Alain Fischer will review our knowledge of the immune response induced by the virus. In particular, he will address the following questions: Why is it that viral infection goes unchecked in certain cases? Why is the immune response itself pathological and responsible for the severity of the disease? Lastly, we'll discuss the therapeutic avenues available to modulate the immune response, as well as the question of vaccines.
