Déborah Bourc'his is Director of Research at Inserm and heads the " Epigenetic decisions and reproduction "teamat the Institut Curie, Paris. After completing a PhD at Paris-Diderot University, she did a postdoctoral fellowship in Timothy Bestor's laboratory at Columbia University, New York. Her research focuses on the epigenetic control of reproduction, from its role in gamete production to its involvement in the transmission of non-genetic information between generations. His team is particularly interested in transposable elements, the millions of mobile genetic elements that populate our DNA, and whose epigenetic control is absolutely essential to preserve the integrity of gametes. Her work is energizing the field of reproductive biology, using precision molecular profiling and gene-editing technologies to reveal new molecular pathways at the root of infertility.

Déborah Bourc'his has been awarded the Grand Prix de la Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale, the Grand Prix Liliane Bettencourt, the Prix de la Fondation Schlumberger pour l'Education et la Recherche (FSER), and ERC funding at Starting, Consolidator and Advanced levels. She is a member of EMBO and actively participates in the evaluation and orientation of research at national and international level.

Déborah Bourc'his is the winner of the Prix Antoine Lacassage 2024.
