The administrator, the teachers and the entire Collège de France community wish you a happy new year 2022

In keeping with its tradition, the Collège de France is once again taking part in the debate on the future of Europe, as France takes over the presidency of the Council of the European Union on January1, 2022.

After initiating a "Europe cycle" in 2021 to welcome political scientists, jurists and historians of Europe, and dedicating its opening symposium to the theme of "Inventing Europe", in January 2022 the Collège de France will host the informal meeting of European ministers responsible for universities and research, as part of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union. On January 27, in collaboration with the French Institute, it organizes the European Night of Ideas, during which fifty-four young Europeans will debate in public the major issues linked to Europe's destiny. Starting in March 2022, it will welcome writer, critic and essayist Alberto Manguel, the first holder of the The Invention of Europe through languages and cultures chair, for an exploration of the myth of European identity.
