Radiocarbon time dilation, geodynamo and prehistory

The fruit of a major international collaboration, a recent publication in the prestigious journal PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences) highlights a time dilation of the radiocarbon clock that will have major repercussions for the study of prehistory and paleoclimatology. Particularly in the field of Paleoanthropology, these results reduce the duration of the simultaneous presence of early modern man and Neanderthals on the European continent. Prof. Edouard Bard, holder of the Climate and Ocean Evolution Chair, and his team at CEREGE in Aix-en-Provence, are closely involved in this work.
