Morgane Thion's research focuses on microglia, the brain's main immune cells, during cerebral development. She is particularly interested in their development and their role in the formation of neuronal circuits and the vascular system. After completing her thesis at the Institut Curie (2010-2014), she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Sonia Garel's laboratory at the Institut de Biologie de l'École normale supérieure (IBENS). Recruited to the CNRS as Chargée de Recherche in 2019, she has been setting up and co-directing a new research team at the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Biologie (CIRB) at the Collège de France since 2023. Morgane Thion's " MicroBBB " project explores the dialogue between microglia and the blood-brain barrier during prenatal development, as well as the influence of maternal microbiota on these immunovascular interactions. Her research is funded by the ANR (JCJC) and the Fondation pour la Recherche sur le Cerveau (FRC).
