Every year, the Collège de France awards scientific prizes to researchers chosen for the excellence of their achievements. A public awards ceremony was held at the Collège de France on Tuesday, November 15 2022. The event, which highlighted the dynamism of scientific research in France, was hosted by journalist Nora Hamadi. The evening was marked by several solemn moments. First six prizes were awarded to eight winners by the professors of the Collège de France.
Prize-giving ceremony
The Prix de la Fondation Hugot du Collège de France 2022 has been awarded to historian Pauline Guillemet by Pr Patrick Boucheron, and to biologist Stefan Harmansa by Pr Thomas Lecuit.
The Delheim 2022 Prize is designed to encourage young biology researchers to continue their work in the laboratories of the Collège de France, with the aim of responding to the major challenges facing humanity. It was awarded to neurobiologist Morgane Thion by Prof. Dr. Sonia Garel.
The Lacassagne 2022 prize, which rewards the work and encourages the careers of young researchers in biology, was awarded to Ali Amara by Pr Hugues de Thé.
Matilde Manara, a professor of modern literature, was awarded the Anna Caroppo - Fondation du Collège de France 2022 scholarship by Pr William Marx. This fellowship supports talented young female researchers, enabling them to pursue their research training for a year with the Collège de France's teams in the humanities and social sciences.
Prof. Timothy Gowers presented the Claude-Antoine Peccot 2022 prize to Charles Bertucci and Thibault Lefeuvre. The prize is awarded each year to young mathematicians under the age of thirty who have distinguished themselves in the field of mathematics.
Collège de France Prize
Awarded for the first time this year, the Collège de France Prize for Young Researchers 2022 recognizes the excellence of a young researcher's career and the innovative nature of his or her contributions to public research. The prize was awarded to microbiologist Aude Bernheim by Prof. Dr. Françoise Combes.

The ceremony was marked by speeches from leading figures in the world of research : Thomas Römer, Administrator of the Collège de France ; Thierry Damerval, President and CEO of the Agence nationale de la recherche ; Thierry Coulhon, President of the Haut Conseil de l'évaluation de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur ; and Antoine Petit, President and CEO of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique.

The evening concluded with a round-table discussion, moderated by Nora Hamadi, bringing together the prizewinners on the theme " Being a young researcher today " : aspirations, challenges, motivations, difficulties, hopes..
