Nicholas Stern holds a PhD in economics from Oxford University, is a Professor at the London School of Economics and a Fellow of the British Academy.
He was Special Adviser on the Economics of Development and Climate Change and Adviser to the UK Government on the Economics of Climate Change and Development from 2003 to 2007.
From 1994 to 1999 he was Chief Economist and Special Advisor to the President of the EBRD, and from 2000 to 2003, Chief Economist and Vice-President of the World Bank. Nicholas Stern is a former head of the UK Government Economics Service. In 2006, he authored a landmark report on the economic impact of global warming.
