Renata Landgráfová is invited by the assembly of the Collège de France, on the proposal of Professor Laurent Coulon, Chair of The Civilization of Pharaonic Egypt

Presentation

The discovery of sumptuously decorated tombs from the end of the 26th dynasty, notably that of the tomb of Ioufâa, has provided an entirely new corpus of funerary texts from the Memphito-Heliopolitan context. The notes in the "Book of Serpents", engraved on one of the tomb's walls, represent an exceptional source for understanding many of the representations hitherto allusively known in numerous Egyptian monuments. These texts are certainly one of the most significant contributions to the study of late Egyptian religion in the 21st century. The two lectures by Renata Landgráfová will present the most recent results of the study of this unpublished corpus.
