On the occasion of the European Heritage Days on September 21 and 22 2024, the Collège de France opens its doors to you for an exceptional tour of two historic sites, enabling you to appreciate the rich history and diversity of its heritage.
On the Marcelin Berthelot site, the Collège de France's assembly hall, where its professors hold their deliberations, will be open to the public on these days. The public will be able to meet some of the professors. The tour will also provide an opportunity to discover the historical heritage of the Collège de France and its various spaces. Books published by the Collège de France, signed by the professors, as well as various souvenir items, will be on sale at the temporary boutique opened for the occasion.
On the Cardinal Lemoine site, located just a few minutes from the Marcelin-Berthelot site, the public will have access to various areas of the Institut des Civilisations du Collège de France, reopened after 7 years of renovation. Mini-conferences given by professors from the Institute of Civilizations will be offered, with prior registration, as well as public readings and a bookbinding workshop. The Institute of Civilizations brings together all the professorships, laboratories and 11 research libraries of the Collège de France dealing with the great civilizations of the past, as well as societies without writing.
A treasure hunt organized for young visitors, linking the two sites, will enable them to discover the Collège de France through a series of enigmas.
