Gérard Ben Arous

Gérard Ben Arous is Silver Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute at NYU, after holding the Chair of Stochastic Modeling at EPFL, and professorships at ENS and Orsay. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and a Member of the International Statistical Institute. He works on probability theory and its connections with other domains of mathematics, data science, physics or industrial applications. He is mainly interested in the time evolution of complex systems. He has trained 39 younger colleagues, PhD students and postdocs.
