Bill Bialek
William Bialek is the John Archibald Wheeler/Battelle Professor in Physics, and a member of the Lewis-Sigler Institute, at Princeton University. A theorist, he would like to know if there are theoretical principles with the power and generality that we have come to expect in physics, yet encompass the full complexity and diversity of life’s most beautiful phenomena. This has led to work on a wide range of systems, from the interplay of quantum and classical dynamics in enzymes to coding and computation in the brain, and from genetic networks in development to collective behavior in flock of birds.
