Fête de la science 2024

Come celebrate science at the Collège de France !
Fête de la science 2024 at the Collège de France

On Saturday, October 5 2024, from 10 h to 18 h, the young researchers of the Collège de France, the ChADoC (Chercheurs Associés et Doctorants du Collège de France), once again invite you to celebrate the Fête de la science.

This event, organized for the thirty-third year by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, gives children and adults alike the opportunity to discover the world of science, and meet the men and women behind today's science.

On this occasion, numerous experiments designed by members of the ChADoC association will be presented in the many disciplines and fields in which the Collège de France has distinguished itself for several centuries : physics, biology, chemistry..

In addition to these workshops, special laboratory tours will be offered on registration : let yourself be guided through our biology or physics laboratories !

The Collège de France's ephemeral boutique, featuring souvenir items and books published by The Collège de France Publishing Department, will also be open to the public at this year's event.

The program

Interactive workshops

This year, the experience will be even more immersive, with workshops in three themed rooms combining the different fields of research present at the Collège de France.

  • The world of the invisible
  • Brain and learning
  • Energy and matter

Neuroscience, microbiology, phylogenetics, electrochemistry, physics and mathematics will take you on a journey.

Police investigation at the Collège de France

Follow the clues and use your scientific skills and logic to find the culprit! Get ready to put your detective skills to the test!

Laboratory visits

Recommended for ages 13 .

  • The Laboratoire Kastler-Brossel is a joint research unit of the CNRS, Collège de France(Institute of Physics), Sorbonne University andÉcolenormale supérieure, which studies quantum physics. Here, atoms are manipulated under extreme conditions to study their behavior when isolated and close to absolute zero. Come and visit one of the experimental rooms to discover the objects researchers use to create these extraordinary conditions.

Photographic exhibition

  • Exhibition of scientific photographs by researchers from the ChADoC association.
