Present and future of a graphic representation of the past
At a time when comics are coming of age, as evidenced by the reflexive returns of the authors within the albums themselves, this round table is an opportunity to question the relationship to the past and to history of this very special medium, which is currently experiencing an unprecedented creative boom and success.
How do comics take on history? What are the current forms of historical comics? How are its potential futures shaping up?
Comic book artist Jean Dytar, historian Adrien Genoudet, essayist and screenwriter Benoît Peeters (invited to occupy the annual Artistic creation chair at the Collège de France in 2022-2023) will be the guests of art historian Margot Renard to discuss and exchange views with the public, under the patronage of Entre-Temps magazine.
