Listed on the stock exchange since October 30, 2013, Blue Solutions is the company that brings together the electricity storage activities developed by the Bolloré group. By diversifying its historic business as a producer of ultra-thin plastic films for capacitors, the group has developed electricity storage components and the solutions that implement them. These components are based on unique technologies: the LMP (lithium-metal-polymer) battery and carbon-carbon supercapacitors.
At a time when the issues of sustainable development and electricity storage have become major challenges for citizens, cities and governments, the Bolloré Group is drawing on this expertise to develop solutions for the intelligent production, storage and consumption of electricity. These solutions come to life in mobile applications (cars, buses, streetcars, boats) as well as stationary applications (for businesses, local authorities and private individuals) developed and marketed by other group entities grouped together within Blue Applications, which have been expanding rapidly in France and on all continents since 2011. After a brief description of these technologies, the talk focused on applications such as Autolib, the world's only direct electric vehicle-based car-sharing service with almost 4,000 cars, and the development of autonomous energy production solutions in Africa.
