Anny Cazenave began her research career in Toulouse at the Groupe de Recherches en Géodésie Spatiale, then at the Laboratoire d'Études en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales. She contributed to the development of space geodesy in France and its applications to the study of the planet. Around 1995, her research focused on space oceanography, in particular sea-level rise in relation to ocean warming and melting continental ice. Over the last ten years, she has also contributed to the development of a new discipline: space hydrology. She is involved in numerous national and international research projects, and participates in the work of the IPCC. She is a member of the French Academy of Sciences.
