Professor Claire Voisin is the winner of the 2017 "Shaw Prize" in the Mathematical Sciences category, along with János Kollár.
The Shaw Prize is an international scientific award presented by The Shaw Prize Foundation, based in Hong Kong. It awards the winners a sum of US$1.2 million thanks to a donation from Hong Kong media mogul Run Run Shaw, who established the prize and the foundation that bears his name in 2002.
The Shaw Prize consists of three annual awards: The Astronomy Prize, the Life Sciences and Medicine Prize and the Mathematical Sciences Prize.
