This event, organized by the ChADoC association (Chercheurs Associés et Doctorants du Collège de France), will take place on March 24, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, via zoom.

Webinar presentation:

A third of French people suffer from sleep disorders, and 50% are chronically sleep-deprived, mainly due to our lifestyles and exposure to screens. Although sleep is essential to life, it is still very much neglected. Yet sleep deprivation has serious negative consequences for our health, and can lead to diabetes, hypertension, depression, Alzheimer's disease...
But why do we sleep at all? What happens in our brains when we're tired and then fall asleep? Is it possible to improve our sleep? In this webinar, Armelle Rancillac, research fellow in neurobiology (Collège de France/Inserm), will explain how sleep works, so that we can improve it. Sleep is not a waste of time, but fundamental to our quality of life!
