Partnership agreement signed between the Collège de France and the Weizmann Institute

december 5, 2019

Thomas Römer, Administrator of the Collège de France, Alon Chen, President of the Weizmann Institute of Science (Tel Aviv) and Maurice Lévy, President of Weizmann France, signed a memorandum of understanding between the three institutions on Wednesday December 4, 2019.

While a significant number of Professors at the Collège de France are already developing research collaborations with their colleagues at the Weizmann Institute of Science, this is the first time that a general agreement has been signed between the two establishments. In particular, it expresses the shared desire of the Collège de France and the Weizmann Institute to develop their scientific cooperation in all shared fields (biology, physics, chemistry, computer science, etc.), by promoting interdisciplinarity and innovation, through joint research projects, the cross-mobility of their researchers and the organization of scientific events under the responsibility of both establishments.

The signing of this agreement follows the visit of a group of four Professors from the Collège de France to the Weizmann Institute last September (Profs Marc Fontecave, Jean-François Joanny, Thomas Lecuit, Hugues de Thé), which led to the identification of subjects of common interest.
