On September 25, 2017, the Collège de France and the University of Bonn renewed their cooperation agreement.

On September 25 in Paris, Prof. Alain Prochiantz, Administrator of the Collège de France, and his counterpart Prof. Michael Hoch, Rector of the University of Bonn, signed the renewal of the cooperation agreement between their two institutions.

Collaboration between the Collège de France and the University of Bonn dates back to 2008, with the creation of an Ernst Robert Curtius Chair in Bonn, held each year by professors from the Collège de France. These contacts have also led to German professors being invited to Paris.

With this new agreement, the two institutions are also looking forward to stepping up exchanges of young scientists and the joint organization of international colloquia.

For the 2017/2018 academic year, professors Thomas Römer (The Hebrew Bible and its Contexts) and Jean-Pierre Brun (Techniques and Economies in the Ancient Mediterranean) will carry out part of their lectures in Bonn.
