The Collège de France community has joined in the national tribute paid at the Sorbonne on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, to Samuel Paty, the history-geography teacher murdered last Friday.
We express our condolences to the teacher's family, our support for all teachers and the educational community, and recall our attachment to the missions and values carried by the school of the Republic: freedom and secularism.
The school held a minute's silence at 4pm on Wednesday in his memory. As the health situation prevented any gathering, each and every one of us was invited to join in the thought.
