Katsinam dolls, Laboratoire d'Anthropologie sociale collection, episode 2

Katsinam are spirits from the mythology of the Hopi Indians of Arizona. There are some four hundredof them, embodying beings or qualities : animals, plants, types of behavior, etc. The dolls that represent them enable children in particular to familiarize themselves with these spirits. The Laboratoire d'Anthropologie sociale houses twelve of them, presented by Pr Descola.
