As of December 14 2023, Jean-François Joanny, holder of the Soft Matter and Biophysics Chair at the Collège de France, is the new President of the Fondation du Collège de France. He succeeds Marc Fontecave, who chaired the Foundation for almost ten years.

This change of presidency coincides with the renewal of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Four new members join this board, which brings together professors from the Collège de France, qualified personalities and representatives of donors and patrons. They include Dominique Senequier, President and Founder of Ardian, and Philippe Mills, Managing Director of SFIL, a public development bank.Prof. NaliniAnantharaman, holder of the Spectral Geometry chair at the Collège de France, also joins the board. The Fondation du Collège de France warmly thanks them for their commitment.

The Board of Directors defines the general policy of the Foundation in line with its mission : to convince patrons and donors to support the excellence and freedom of research, and to extend the dissemination of knowledge to as many people as possible.

This renewed Board will accompany the major patronage campaigns currently underway to support the institution's projects.
These include the "Agir pour l'éducation"program run by Collège de France professors to put the results of science at the service of schools and equal opportunities, an exceptional cycle of exhibitions in preparation for the 500th anniversary of the Collège de France, and the dissemination of knowledge online at the Collège de France.
