February 22: Les rendez-vous de l'actualité at the Arab World Institute

In partnership with the Collège de France, France Culture, AFP and France Médias Monde, the Institut du Monde Arabe is launching a new event to decipher current affairs.

Join us at the IMA Auditorium from February 22, 2017, then every last Wednesday of the month at 7pm (duration 1h30).

"Connected to the flow of information, the Rendez-vous de l'actualité are a moment of deciphering, exchanging and stepping back for all, on the latest events in the Arab world. Set a few days before the event, the subject, question or event discussed will be taken from the region's immediate news, to keep as close as possible to what's happening.

3 speakers will be chosen from a defined panel of 12 personalities, plus external guests from the media, academia, research or civil society, all of whom will be associated with the proposed topic.
Each month, the debate will be moderated by a specialist in information and its processing: Anthony Bellanger from France Inter, Alain Frachon from Le Monde or a journalist from AFP.
At the start of the session, to introduce the topic of the day and plunge the audience into its reality, AFP will show a series of photos from its iconographic collection, related to the chosen theme.
Each Rendez-vous de l'actualité will be available to listen to again, free of charge, on the websites of the Collège de France, France Culture, AFP and the Institut du Monde Arabe

Professors Henry Laurens and Mireille Delmas-Marty will take part in these first Rendez-vous.
