On Friday, March 24, 2017, Barcelona-based writer Enrique Vila-Matas came to the Collège de France to share his very singular vision of writing. He was accompanied by artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, with whom he has often collaborated.

Enrique Vila-Matas' latest book, Mac et son contretemps, is published by Christian Bourgois.

Enrique VILA-MATAS was born in Barcelona in March 1948. Almost all his work has been published by Christian Bourgois Editeur: Abrégé d'histoire de la littérature portative, Suicides exemplaires, Enfants sans enfants, Bartleby et compagnie, Le Mal de Montano, Paris ne finit jamais, Docteur Pasavento, Explorateurs de l'abîme, Journal volubile, Dublinesca, Perdre des théories, Impressions de Kassel, Marienbad électrique, Mac et son contretemps.

She has been translated into 37 languages and has won numerous literary prizes: prix Médicis étranger, Prix Rómulo Gallegos, Prix Rulfo, Prix Ennio Flaiano, Prix Elsa Morante, Prix Mondello, Prix Gregor von Rezzori, Prix Formentor, Prix National de Catalogne Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in France, member of the convulsive Ordre des Chevaliers de Finnegans', founder of the Société de "Réfractaires à l'abrutissement général" (Nantes), and rector (unknown) of the unknown University of New York. Various critical works have been published on his work, as well as a book of interviews with his current French translator.
