Alain Prochiantz, 2018-2019 Collen-Francqui Chairholder

Alain Prochiantz will deliver the opening lecture lecture for the Collen-Francqui Chair at KU Leuven on January 23, 2019 at 2pm.

He will then give a series of 4 lectures:

  • february 13, 2019: Discovery of Homeoprotein Non-Cell Autonomous Activity
  • march13, 2019: Homeoprotein Signaling in Patterning and in the Control of Axon Quidance and Cell Migration
  • april 17, 2019: Regulation of Cerebral Cortex Plasticity by Otx2 Transfer from Choroid Plexus to PV-Interneuron
  • may 8, 2019: Use of Homeoproteins as Therapeutic Proteins in Parkinson Disease

These lectures will take place from 2 to 4 pm at the auditorium of Onderwijs en Navorsing 4 on KU Leuven's Gasthuisberg campus.

Alain Prochiantz has been a trustee of the Collège de France since 2015 and holds the "Morphogenetic Processes" chair.

The Francqui Foundation was set up in Belgium in 1932 to promote the development of higher education and scientific research in the country.

Each year, the Francqui Foundation awards a number of "Chaires Francqui", inviting a renowned professor to give ten hours of lectures.
