The Groupe d'Études en Métaphysique was founded in 2015 by Pr Claudine Tiercelin with the aim of bringing together the best French-speaking metaphysicians for regular workshops culminating each year in a major international symposium. The GEM is directed by Alexandre Declos (Collège de France/Université de Neuchâtel).

This research group constitutes the first platform where researchers in contemporary metaphysics, whether advanced or at the start of their careers, have the opportunity to share and discuss their work-in-progress.
