Steven Durlauf
Steven Durlauf is Steans Professor at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. He is Editor of the Journal of Economic Literature, Co-Director of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Durlauf is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Econometric Society, Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, and the International Association for Applied Econometrics. His research spans microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics. His major methodological contributions include the integration of statistical mechanics methods into economic models and the melding of sociological ideas in economic formalism.
