Abstract

Marc Henneaux is a Belgian physicist who spent part of his career in the USA, working with Claudio Bunster (Teitelboim Weitzman) at Princeton University (1978-1979), then in Austin (1981-1984), in John Wheeler's group. He then became a researcher at the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (Belgium), before joining the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1993, where he was appointed professor. In 1996, he founded the Theoretical and Mathematical Physics group, which he headed until 2012. Since 2004, he has been Director of the Solvay International Institutes of Physics and Chemistry, which have organized the famous Solvay Physics and Chemistry Councils since 1911.
