The city of Ur in Paleo-Babylonian times

The choice to study the city of Ur in the Paleo-Babylonian period follows both scientific and personal news: the resumption of the excavation of this site in southern Iraq under the direction of Elisabeth Stone during two campaigns in autumn 2015 and spring 2017, in which Dominique Charpin participated as an epigraphist. The lecture (and seminar) were also part of the " EcritUr " project proposed by D. Charpin to the ANR, for which funding has been obtained for thirty-six months from October^1, 2017.
