Dominique Weis is invited by the Collège de France assembly, on the proposal of Pr Barbara Romanowicz.

Dr. Dominique Weis has been honoured as a 2021 University Killam Professor. Dr. Weis holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair and is internationally renowned for the elegance, precision and impact of her geochemical studies of the Earth, from large igneous provinces to environmental monitoring, through the use of cutting-edge mass spectrometry. She has an outstanding publication record of over 200 journal articles, reports and book chapters. Numerous fellowships, including with the Royal Society of Canada and the American Geophysical Union, have been bestowed upon her in recognition of her groundbreaking research. As an educator, Dr. Weis has an exceptional track record of mentoring students and early career researchers, having directly supervised over 60 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows throughout her distinguished career. She also had the foresight to create a national training network for students in geochemistry, which provided research, training, industry exposure and career development in a program that was unique in Canada. Dr. Weis was awarded the 2020 Mentorship Medal from the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences. Dr. Weis is a Faculty Associate of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies in Vancouver, Canada.
