Karl-Oskar Lindgren is a Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Government at Uppsala University. His research interests include political participation and representation, democratic theory, EU politics, and education policies. He is the co-author of the book Participatory Governance in the EU: Enhancing or Endangering Democracy and Efficiency (Palgrave, 2011). Lindgren has authored or co-authored more than three dozen articles, chapters, and scientific reports on various subjects. His academic work has appeared in leading general and political science outlets such as Nature, the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Politics.
In 2009, Lindgren received Uppsala University’s Distinguished Teaching Award for his outstanding accomplishments in undergraduate teaching. He has also been awarded the SAGE Best Paper Award and the Lawrence Longley Best Article Award by the American Political Science Association.
