• Former student of Lycée Marie Curie from 1946 to 1955
• Educated in Ha Noi
• 1966 : walked the Ho Chi Minh trail with a group of teachers
• 1966-1975 : worked as a journalist for the FNL Liberation news agency ; prisoner of the South Viet Nam regime, released with her 4 month-old daughter on April 30 1975
• School principal, retired in 1992
• Involved in humanitarian activities ; Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur ; Lawsuit against the American firms that produced Ao during the Viet Nam war
