Rachid Guerraoui is a world-renowned specialist in distributed algorithms. Trained at the Université d'Orsay (now the Université Paris-Saclay), he was a visiting professor at MIT and worked at the prestigious Hewlett Packard laboratories in Paolo Alto before joining the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he currentlyholds a professorship and heads the Distributed Computing Laboratory (DCL).
