Each year, the Synergy Grant rewards the research projects of two to four researchers and their teams for jointly conducting ambitious research programs.
Created within the framework of the European Research Council (ERC), the SynergyGrant is part of the European Horizon 2020 program and differs from the other grants offered by the ERC. It is a funding scheme that supports research projects of a collective nature, involving complementary skills and interaction between several research themes.
On October 11, 2019, the ERC announced the list of winning projects. Highly competitive, this grant was awarded for 2019 to Claire Voisin (Professor at the Collège de France, holder of the Algebraic Geometry Chair), Olivier Debarre (Paris-Diderot University, Paris University), Daniel Huybrechts (University of Bonn) and Emanuele Macri (Paris-Sud University, Paris-Saclay). Entitled "HyperK", their research project focuses on hyper-Kählerian geometry, at the crossroads of complex, symplectic and algebraic geometries.
