Joël Huthwohl

An archivist and paleographer, Joël Huthwohl is a performance historian and playwright. At the Comédie-Française from 2001 to 2008 as curator of the Bibliothèque-Musée, he was editor-in-chief of the Journal des trois théâtres, and one of the three authors of Grande et petite histoire de la Comédie-Française (France-Culture serial, 2006). He is currently head of the Performing Arts Department at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. At the BnF, he curated the exhibitions Carolyn Carlson (2014), PIAF (2015), Le peintre Charles Matton, écrivain et cinéaste (2016) and Chaillot, une mémoire de la danse (2018). He is the author of articles and books on the performing arts.
