Abstract
Biotechnology is the application of all the life sciences to improve health and is revolutionizing our daily lives. By devoting the first year of its new Chair in Technological Innovation to biotechnology, the Collège de France has sought to build a bridge between researchers trying to decipher the mysteries of living organisms and industrialists seeking to discover and develop new medicines and devices that will improve the health of all.
